I still remember the very first time I saw this creepy image...

...almost ten years ago. I had just moved out to Fargo, North Dakota - coming from San Diego where I had lived most of my life. To that point, I had never set foot in the snow and never had experienced weather below 35 degrees. Just when I thought I was getting used to my new cold surroundings, I walked out to my car one morning and was convinced that my vehicle had been invaded by some mysterious alien from another universe. I was told later that "Black Ice" was the culprit. THEN came the terrifying moments of trying to cross the street. I thought that was the worst I would ever see - man was I wrong.

Our weather forecast was spot-on

There it was for all of us to see -FREEZING RAIN"  - Winter Weather Advisory - *IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions...

All I had to do was walk 20 simple yards to my garage - I came outside wearing all-purpose NIKE shoes ( which served ZERO purpose at all ) - at one point I began to slide out of control. I thought to myself that if I could skate, I would be much safer wearing ice skates. I wasn't the only person in Bismarck to feel that way...
