Thinking about heading "Down By The Lazy River..." anytime in the next couple of weeks?

Well here are a few courteous couple of paragraphs for you in case you are. Most of us are eagerly waiting for THE first day of summer ( just two days away! ) and if you have lived in North Dakota long enough, you are well aware of road construction season. Just as soon as the temps rise to "T-shirt and shorts" wearing weather, the orange cones begin to show up almost everywhere it seems. One such area that began today is "Down By The Lazy River"

Like any place else in Bismarck and Mandan, you can find yourself cruising along until a "forgotten road closure" will hit you in the face

So now as I promised earlier....here is what the Burleigh County Highway Department posted last Thursday:

     River Road Closed

"River Road will be closed to through traffic from Burnt Boat Drive to the south end of Burnt Creek Loop beginning Monday 6/19/2023 at 8:00 am for roadway repairs. River Road will be completely closed south of 3939 River Road and north of 3800 River Road. This work is projected to take approximately 2 weeks weather dependent. NO DETOUR for this project will be provided. Drivers should plan accordingly and use alternate routes. Access to residential and business properties will be maintained. A map showing all current road closures and restrictions is available on Burleigh County's Website www.burleighco.com"

So I hope that helps a little, and by all means please enjoy your time "Down By The Lazy River"...( Please enjoy The Osmonds )...
