All right, don't panic.....I wasn't asking for MYSELF

So there are many opinions on this topic, I brought it up at work this morning. Is there an age limit to actually going out and trick-or-treating here in Bismarck and Mandan? Obviously, I never gave it that much thought when I was a kid, and I don't remember if my parents at one point said "Well you are now too big and old to go out mooching for candy" - Just a year earlier I was cute and adorable in a skeleton costume..and NOW I'm considered a possible moocher. On the flip side, one of our co-workers said he had no problem passing out candy to whoever came by, age wasn't a problem.

"Aren't you just a bit old to be out trick-or-treating YOUNG man?"

I do remember hearing that from a lady three blocks away - I think I was somewhat embarrassed for about 3-4 seconds. After doing some digging on Google, I was quite surprised that some cities around the country really do have Trick-or-Treat Age Limit Laws. Check it out, according to parents.com "...many believe the trick-or-treat age shouldn't extend into the teen years. Some cities and towns even have an actual trick-or-treat law that places an age limit on trick-or-treating. Yes, really. For example, Chesapeake, Virginia, limits trick-or-treating to kids 14 and under, and older trick-or-treaters can actually be charged with a Class 4 misdemeanor. Other cities in Virginia have similar trick-or-treat age limit laws in place; Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Norfolk, and more prohibit trick-or-treating after age 12"

So...is there an age limit law in North Dakota for Trick-or-Treating?

There is not, and IF someone out there decides to dress up like a goofy-looking disc jockey, I promise you it's NOT ME.
