St. Patrick's Day. A day to celebrate your Irish heritage with pints of Guinness, corned beef and cabbage, and anything green. As a horror movie fan, it's also a day to celebrate one of the absolute worst franchises in the genre: 'Leprechaun'.

Here are 10 things you may not have known about these classically awful films.

Jennifer Aniston Starred in the Original 'Leprechaun'

It's no secret that most actors star in a few bad films before they truly "make it". George Clooney starred in 'Return of the Killer Tomatoes', Matthew McConaughey and Renee Zellweger co-starred in 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation', and Jennifer Aniston took her star turn in the original 'Leprechaun.' This was also her first feature film role.

Warwick Davis is easily one of the most famous dwarfs in Hollywood. He's made appearances in "Willow", "Labyrinth", and a couple of "Star Wars" films. He's also played the lead in SIX "Leprechaun" movies. Yes...there are SIX of them.

    'Leprechaun' Made $9 Million

I know what you're thinking..."There's NO WAY that movie made that much money"...but it's true. The film's budget, according to Wikipedia, was $900,000 and the film made $9 million at the box office. Obviously, TriMark Pictures made a decent amount of cash off the original so they felt the need to make five more of them.

That's right...In the original "Leprechaun" film, Daniel O'Grady returns from Ireland to his home state of North Dakota with a captured leprechaun and his pot o' gold. Who knew a North Dakotan was the cause of this entire terrible turn of events!

The Director of 'Leprechaun' also Directed 'Rumplestiltskin'

If ruining one children's story wasn't bad enough, "Leprechaun" writer/director Mark Jones also wrote and directed a horror version of "Rumplestiltskin" in 1995. Luckily, there was only one of those.

Debbe Dunning, from 'Home Improvement', was in 'Leprechaun 4: In Space'

Since there have been six films in the franchise at this point, a lot of people have made an appearance in "Leprechaun" movies but one of the names that stood out most to me was Debbe Dunning. She played Heidi, the "Tool Time" girl, on "Home Improvement". In "Leprechaun 4: In Space", she was Pvt. Delores Costello. What a terrible name...which brings us to #8...

Ice-T starred in 'Leprechaun: In The Hood'

Before he was Detective Fin on "Law & Order: SVU", Ice-T starred in the fifth film in the "Leprechaun" series..."Leprechaun: In the Hood". Ice-T played record producer Mac Daddy O'Nassas, which could quite possibly be the greatest name for a character I've ever heard. Unfortunately, Mac Daddy didn't make it to the end of the film. The Leprechaun blew up his bullet-riddled body.

As if the entire "Leprechaun" series wasn't ridiculous enough with him venturing into space..."Leprechaun: In The Hood" ended with the Leprechaun rapping about how evil he was. Luckily for you, you can see the rap, via YouTube, HERE.
