Spring is finally here in the Bismarck Mandan area.

At least that's what the calendar says despite snow in the forecast again late this week.  Let's face it, it's been a very, very long winter.  We could still break an all-time snowfall record in Bismarck Mandan.

Despite that, it's time to start looking forward to spring and summer and all we can do to make our homes and yards a seasonal paradise.

This year's Dakota Garden Expo in Bismarck is this Friday and Saturday at the Bismarck Event Center.

Showtimes are Friday from 3 to 8 pm and Saturday from 9 to 4 pm.  There are a plethora of reasons why you should think about attending this year's expo, but I thought I would narrow it down to 5 BIG reasons this year is a "can't miss."

The 5 Reasons Not To Miss This Year's Dakota Garden Expo in Bismarck.

#5 More plant vendors than ever before.

And we mean EVER.  Trees, shrubs, and plants in all shapes and sizes are ready to brighten up your backyard and turn it into your very own Garden of Eden.

#4 Great Line up of seminars from NDSU Extension to help you with your backyard escape.

Learn from the experts.  Having problems with noxious weeds?  Grow grass like the pros.  Learn what insects are good for your lawn and which ones you need to get rid of.  Here's a link to all of this year's seminars here.

#3 Get fantastic deals on your plants now.

Now is the time to buy as warmer weather will be here soon.  Save BIG now.  Why wait?  It's like throwing away money later.

#2 4-H students will be there to bring your purchases out to your vehicle so no need to worry about buying too much.

(this is a fundraiser for the 4-H with free will donations for this service)

#1 FREE ADMISSION thanks to BEK TV.

This is something new as normally there is a small fee to enter the show.  Not this year, so take advantage of it, and thanks again to BEK TV.  We will see you at the shows.
