Get ready for a particularly warm Mother's Day weekend here in Bismarck and Mandan

For some reason, this past week I heard more, not really complaints, but angst on what to do for Mother's Day. How much money people were planning on spending at some fancy-dancy restaurant - That got me thinking, I made a bet with myself that I could come up with 7 FREE things you can do for your mom this Sunday.

Without a doubt, THE most important thing of all is to just spend time with her.

I lost my mom back in 2010, and there is not a second I don't wish I could be with her again. So get yourself in the creative mode and come up with some ideas that are FREE. How about you and her taking a walk along the Missouri River? The weather is projected to be in the low 90s - A bike ride would be ideal as well.

A good old-fashioned round of darts would be fun ( NO WAGERING ) - When was the last time you picked up a mallet and played croquet out in the backyard? So who cares if neither of you are not up to speed with all the official rules?  Take a few minutes, and write her a letter - words from the heart are way more special than anything bought. Watching your mom's favorite movie together is special as well.

Just spend time with your mom - focus on that.
