We are STILL in a flood warning till late this afternoon...

'Areal Flood Warning in effect until 4:00 PM CST. FLOOD WARNING FOR AN ICE JAM NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM CST FRIDAY.( TODAY )  * WHAT...Minor flooding due to an ice jam is occurring. *WHERE...The Bismarck and Mandan reach of the Missouri River located in Burleigh and Morton counties of North Dakota"

So how is this impacting Bismarck and Mandan right now?

According to the U.S. National Weather Service *IMPACTS...low-flying areas along the Missouri River Shoreline are at risk of being flooded. Depending on shifts in the current ice jam, rapid changes in water levels are possible. Any sudden release of the ice jam could result in sudden rises of water downstream of the main body of ice, to include rural area south of the Heart River on the Mandan side of the river and south of Fox Island on the Bismarck side"

Speaking of Fox Island, take a look at some pictures taken there...

“We are monitoring this situation closely and taking a whole-of-government approach to protecting lives and property on the Missouri River in Bismarck-Mandan,” Burgum said. “We appreciate the cooperation of our local, state and federal partners as we respond to this rapidly developing situation.”
