Guns N' Roses brought their Not in This Lifetime tour to Australia last night — and they had an assist from a famous friend.

As had been heavily rumored, AC/DC co-founder and guitarist Angus Young put in an appearance during the opening night of Guns N' Roses' Australian run, joining the band onstage at Sydney's ANZ Stadium for performances of "Whole Lotta Rosie" and "Riff Raff."

"We're gonna bring out a friend of ours," frontman Axl Rose told the crowd. "Ladies and gentlemen, Angus Young!" Grinning and gesturing at the letterman jacket he was wearing, Rose poked fun at Young's T-shirt and jeans, quipping, "Here's something you never see. He didn't have his school uniform, but I'm wearing a school jacket."

Brian Johnson during AC/DC's most recent tour — and Young is one of Australia's biggest musical exports — it didn't really come as any surprise that he showed up to perform, especially after he made a point of welcoming the band by staging a fake "security check" and boarding their plane after it touched down in Sydney. But their latest live collaboration is still a pretty big deal, as acknowledged by GNR's social media feed.

Guns N' Roses will remain in Australia for much of February, then head to Europe for a spring leg before returning to North America for another round of dates that's scheduled to keep them on the road through September.
