Last night, a tragic fire lit up the Bismarck sky

As the sirens filled the air late yesterday afternoon, smoke was rising in the distance. A fire was burning at an apartment structure on the 4000 block of Lockport Street. Around 5 pm, a 68-unit building was evacuated, and firefighters fought the flames and collapsing structures. One firefighter was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation

As of yesterday, there is no word on what caused the fire, they do know where itIN  originated - according to kfyrtv.com "Bismarck Fire Marshal, Owen Fitzsimmons, said the fire originated in a crawl space below the building, traveled vertically, and spread within the attic space before breaching the roof. Authorities said conditions remained dangerous, and part of the structure collapsed as crews worked to limit further damage"
