Bismarck-Mandan-What Exactly Was That In Our Skies Last Week?
This was one of the coolest things I have ever seen
It was Friday, February 21 - the weather was crystal clear, and the temperature nice and crisp ( around the high 30s. I think like most people: I carry my phone almost everywhere I go ( our phones have nearly all of our lives stored in them ). Around 11:57 am, I took a quick stroll over to Krolls ( In Mandan ) to pick up some lunch.
As riveting as this story is so far, it was just an average walk to our radio station
On my way back to the radio station, I saw one of the coolest things I have ever seen. Way off in the distant skies were 4 contrails ( condensation trails ). I immediately grabbed my phone, dropped my salad with blue cheese dressing, and took this 60-second video. The objects were so clear: see for yourself:
Bromo
I showed a few people the video that day, and nobody seemed to know exactly what it was either
I may be extremely clueless on this, but I was definitely curious, so I made a few phone calls. Someone suggested I call the Minot Air Force Base. They didn't know anything about it. I wasn't the only one that saw the brief sky show: a fellow employee told me that he took his phone out to try and find out more info
There is an app called "flightradar24"
On my co-worker's phone is an app called flightradar24 - it tracks all flights that are in the air - there was nothing in the area that showed on the app. So, if anyone knows what it was that late morning, please let me know!
