An attempt to serve a federal search warrant turned into a five-hour standoff Thursday evening in north Bismarck.

KXMB News reports the police were in the process of "executing a search warrant related to a drug investigation" on Boundary Road, when the suspect locked himself in a nearby garage.

At that point, the SWAT team was brought in just in case.

Police officers from Bismarck and Mandan Morton County deputies and a bomb squad were also present. Some officers on scene said they were called to assist in serving the warrant shortly after 5 p.m. e were blocked off while a "perimeter" was set up around the home.

The suspect stayed in the garage for over five hours. Eventually, officers were able to take him into custody.

The ended around 8:30PM and no injuries were reported.

KXMB reports another suspect was taken in for possession of meth and cocaine.
