Fargo Artists Reaching Out For HOPE.
I have heard people say numerous times "How can this year possibly get worse?" They are referring to the coronavirus that swept in, killing people all over the world. The COVD-19 has handcuffed people to their homes - quarantine, social distancing, businesses closing for good, unemployment. So -how could this year get any worse? - In seven minutes and 46 seconds on May 25th, 2020 a black man by the name of George Floyd, handcuffed and on the ground, was killed by a white police officer - Derek Chauvin - his knee on Floyd's neck cut off his remaining oxygen. This event set off an explosion of protests around the country and other parts of the world as well. Police brutality took over in the news and the virus took a backseat to this year's catastrophic event.
Unlike the coronavirus, which 99.9% of us had never heard of until fairly recent, trouble with racism for hundreds of years. Mankind has been hard at work trying to find a cure for the violent pandemic disease that's killed more than 450,000 people worldwide. Pure evil and devastation towards those who are born with a different color skin have sadly been the insanely stupid mentality of a racist. When a man or woman has hate bred in their soul, and they are wearing a badge - to protect and serve - it becomes a recipe for trouble. Time after time evidence has proved that brutality, mixed with any ill will towards whom that monster self-judges as inferior and weak, ends with horrific results.
We as a nation somehow, someway need to find a way to eliminate what's been terribly an injustice for hundreds of years. In Fargo, Two artists and a small support crew have reached out to local businesses to post pictures of fallen African Americans who have perished in the hands of police intervention. This is not a hope for violence, nor to try and motivate an angry crowd. Their goal is to touch other HUMAN beings regardless of race or color. A simple way to reach out to anyone and maybe EVERYONE that a change MUST be made. For more on this story click here.
