The YWCA in Fargo has purchased a building that will soon house women and children escaping domestic violence situations.

According to KVRR, the Fargo YWCA has purchased its neighboring convent building in order to help women and children who are leaving domestic violence situations. The report states that the Lanter Light housing facility is expected to accept children and women in early 2023. What will Lantern Light do for women and children?

YWCA Cass-Clay CEO Erin Prochnow told KVRR that the former convent will be able to house 23 families, but it will be more than a place to live. Prochnow said that the facility, which sits on over 5-acres of land, will have a "campus-like environment" and services that will be offered include childcare and education employment services.
