I was rewarded a couple of weeks ago with a visit from three wonderful people who stopped by our radio station

I've been teased my whole "broadcasting career" for giving people tours of all the radio stations I have worked at - from San Diego, California, to Minot, North Dakota, and here in Mandan. I'm proud of what I do - there was a time in my life when I was out of radio, and I missed it so much - it took me over three years to "get back in", and I'll never take it for granted again.

When people come in, I do my best to show others what I love so much

A couple of weeks ago I had a special goal in mind. I knew that 12-year-old Miranda Nicole Kuntz was coming in ( along with her mom Michelle and an awesome family friend - LayCee ) -Miranda deals with bullies at Flasher Public School. Here is the terrible part of life: it doesn't matter how big or small a school is, a bully or bullies are bound to be around.

LayCee is such a caring person - she watches over Miranda like an "Aunt"

A Facebook friend ( LayCee ) tipped me off about some friends of hers. I reached back and asked her to bring them in. At the front door, Miranda gave me a quick, shy smile, and I could immediately see her mother's concern in her eyes. Her daughter is facing terrible threats from other classmates. As an adult, it's easy to forget just how damaging and frightening bullies were when we were in school.

It took a couple of minutes, but Miranda sat next to her mom, ready to talk into the microphone

I am not one to give advice. Sadly I don't have the answers to what Miranda is going through. Her bullies have been reported, and I hope they are dealt with swiftly. Miranda is a funny, smart young girl - I told her what I know, that ALL bullies are insecure - most of them are scared as well, so they try and intimidate others. At first, Miranda wanted no part of our microphone :) So glad she changed her mind. With a smile on her face, she said "Hi"  to three of her friends. This world needs more people like LayCee in it.
