Two years ago, Gene Ween played a pair of concerts comprised of nothing but Billy Joel covers. Now, he's bringing that show on the road this summer with a string of dates booked in the Northeast.

He announced the dates on Facebook, beginning Aug. 4 at Daryl's House, the club owned by Daryl Hall of Hall & Oates, in Pawling, N.Y., and ending at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, N.Y on Aug. 12. This includes an Aug. 11 stop at the Westbury Theater in Westbury, N.Y., a stone's throw away from Joel's Long Island hometown of Hicksville.

Pre-sale for all dates except the Bethlehem, Pa., and Woodstock, N.Y., shows will begin tomorrow at 10AM Eastern, with the general sale taking place on Friday, May 12 at 10AM Eastern. Visit Gene Ween's website for full details.

“I’ve been listening to Billy Joel all my life, but I’ve started to study how he sings. He is a really intense singer, so I’m gonna be working on singing with the power and veracity of Billy Joel,” Freeman said prior to the 2015 shows. “I love Billy Joel ... We’re going to be doing at least a 90-minute set and a couple cool shows," adding elsewhere that he and a seven-piece band will perform "the hits, and only the hits."
