Scary how fast time goes by, it seems like just yesterday there was sadness in the air

Take a look at the cover picture of this article. That is a shot from a fairway at the Tom O'Leary golf course here in Bismarck - I remember the day like it was yesterday, October 29th, 2025. Golfers were saying goodbye to their favorite courses for a while; that's what Mother Nature does. Well, listen, I am thrilled to be yelling "FORE" again very soon.

Bismarck’s Public Golf Courses Announce Opening Dates

Bismarck, N.D. – Bismarck Parks and Recreation District is excited to announce golf course opening dates for the 2026 season.

Pebble Creek Golf Course will open Saturday, March 28, at 11:00 a.m. Sheila Schafer Junior Links and Junior Links Practice Area remain closed.

The back nine (holes 10-18) will open at Riverwood Golf Course on Monday, March 30, at 11:00 a.m. The front nine will open as conditions allow.

Tom O’Leary Golf Course will open Tuesday, March 31, at 11:00 a.m.

Throughout the season, tee times may be booked three days in advance.

Golfers are encouraged to purchase season passes before opening day. Season passes maybe be purchased online or in person, along with green fee packages, at:

• Pebble Creek Golf Course/Fore Seasons Center, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily
• Riverwood Golf Course, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily
• BPRD office, 400 E. Front Ave., 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday
