Yet Another Sad Sight In Mandan And All Around The Country
Sad that we find ourselves almost becoming immune to these horrific shootings
Last Wednesday night, I actually heard someone say, "Well, it was ONLY 2 people that died..." - these 2 people were just kids. The terrible event I'm talking about took place in Minneapolis last Wednesday.
According to cnn.com "... a shooter fired on praying students through the windows of a church, killing two children. Eighteen other people were wounded, most of them students. • Authorities said the shooter, Robin Westman, had a “deranged fascination” with past mass shooters and left behind hundreds of pages of writing expressing hate toward “almost every group imaginable.”
If you didn't hear about the shooting this past week, you may have noticed our flags flying half-staff
I will never get over that feeling every time I see our flag half-staff. It's a sickening thud in your stomach when the realization hits hard that another random shooting and murder of innocent people happened again. This upcoming weekend, 2 tragic events have our flags at half-staff
A horrendous evil shooting and the anniversary of a Hurricane
According to newsweek.com "American flags and some state flags will be flown at half-staff across the United States this week and over the weekend to acknowledge three tragic events. Nationwide, U.S. flags have been lowered as a mark of respect to the victims of Wednesday's mass shooting at a Catholic school in Minneapolis.
Be safe on this 3-day Labor Day weekend - take some time this weekend to spend time with your family - and never forget WHY we fly our flags at half-staff.
