It's quite difficult to truly grasp how many planes are in the air at any given time.

Luckily, our friends at NATS have come up with this video, showing every plane crossing the North Atlantic in a 24-hour period.

While it doesn't say exactly how many planes cross the North Atlantic in a 24-hour period, the volume of planes is pretty astonishing. I would have never guessed THAT many planes cross the ocean in one day.

Needless to say, you learn something new every day.
