How Can A Little Black Dress Help Bismarck-Mandan People in Need?
MSA United Way is raising money and awareness for BisMan women and children in poverty.
According to a press release from United Way, "1 in 5 children live in poverty; and 459 students in Bismarck and Mandan Public Schools are homeless." The people of MSA United Way need the community's help in combating homelessness affecting women and children in BisMan. You can support the cause by virtually participating in the "Little Black Dress" campaign this month!
WHAT: The MSA United Way's "Little Black Dress" Poverty Awareness Campaign
WHEN: September 20 - September 23, 2021
WHERE: Bismarck-Mandan (VIRTUALLY)
What is the "Little Black Dress" Poverty Awareness Campaign?
The press release states that groups of people are raising money that will go to the United Way's Education Initiative. The initiative helps women and children "overcome the barriers of poverty so they are successful in school and life." I spoke with Zoe Manstrom from the United Way and she told me the overall goal of the campaign is raising $50,000. Donations are currently being taken. Donate and keep up with the campaign progress on the "Little Black Dress" Campaign page.
How do you participate in the campaign fun?
To participate, you can now either donate or sign-up your team to get donations. If you sign-up to be a part of the fun, you and your crew will then rock the same little black dress (or all-black outfit) for four days, with a team goal of raising $1,500! You will also be able to submit pictures and keep track of campaign updates on the "Little Black Dress" Facebook event page.
