I'll speak for myself - yesterday ( Sunday, November 3rd ) was just an ordinary day...

..I.slept in, loving the "Extra Hour" gift - thanks to the ending of Daylight Savings time. I pretty much "out-lazied" even my two cats. A PURRFECT day for it, for the weather was gloomy and threatening rain all day - and for the most part it did just that. So when I got a Facebook message from a co-worker last night telling me how significant the whole day turned out to be, I was pretty surprised.

Usually, when the first sentence of the message sent to you starts with...

... US National Weather Service Bismarck North Dakota it's an indication of something important - SO I immediately focused on what was written:

***RECORD ALERT*** We broke the daily maximum rainfall record at the Bismarck airport for today (11/3). Thus far, 0.70 inches have fallen which breaks the old record of 0.36 inches set back on this date in 1880. Some more light rain will be possible through the evening.

Try and imagine what life was like back in 1880  -  Sadly there was no Netflix - no TikTok videos to watch for hours on end - We somehow take for granted the days and nights that are allotted to us when we can spend time outdoors, and not handcuffed due to snow. I read a ton of comments about the day we had yesterday - does North Dakota need the rain? The answer to that is "YES" -by the way, according to gf.nd.gov "Annual precipitation ranges from 13 to 20 inches a year" I need another nap.
