One of the things I am most passionate about in life besides my job, is recovery

I've been through it, I'm still living it, and always will - I am an alcoholic - I am as of this moment 5,301 days sober - my sobriety date is 2/17/09. I had a chance to talk to Kristina Berner this afternoon. She is the Development Director for the North Dakota Teen Challenge here in Mandan.

This is a residential program for young men and women - looking to change their lives, to get back on their feet - to RESTORE their lives. Addiction ruins families and destroys ambitions and dreams. Kristina experiences first-hand miracles every day.

This Saturday - August 26th - "Ride For Recovery"

This is your chance to do what you can to help "Rebuild" someone's life - All proceeds go to ND Adult & Teen Challenge. If you head to their website tc4hope.org - you'll find out how you can help. Their mission statement is perfect:

“To help the broken, lost, and hopeless overcome life-controlling issues in order to find hope and healing in all areas of their lives.” This says it all, but we need your help! As a non-profit organization, we are almost 80% funded by private donations. Students are asked to pay only $500/month out of the $3500/mo* average that it costs for one student to be in our program and get the help they need. Not one perspective student is turned away for inability to pay. This is where you come in. Please help us continue to live out our mission statement by donating today!

God Bless You!

Once again my favorite question I love to ask:

"Kristina, what is your favorite part of your job?"     Her answer was wonderfully sincere, and I could hear the emotion in her voice - "Watching a gradual change in our students, accepting their new way of life"

So awesome - yes you can take your life back, and it's glorious.
