You might have already taken your kids to a few trunk-or-treats this year, but if you plan on getting out in the neighborhood to do some good old-fashioned trick-or-treating, you might want to know what the hours are for this in Bismarck-Mandan.

Some of us prefer to wait until it gets dark for an actual trick-or-treat experience, while others want to get it done early in the evening, so our kids can change, eat dinner, and get to bed at an early hour.

While there aren't specific hours, the city advises that you can trick-or-treat, but you should be aware of the city's curfew.

Bismarck-Mandan Trick-or-Treat Hours

According to Bismarcknd.gov, the city's curfew law states the following:

"Persons under the age of sixteen years to loiter, idle, wander, stroll, play in or upon, or drive or ride about in a vehicle or be in or upon the public streets, highways, roads, alleys, or public buildings, places or grounds between the hours of 10:30 p.m. and 5:00 a.m."

While 10:30 pm is awfully late for younger kids to be trick-or-treating, it's better to know.

It also has rules for kids between the ages of 16 and 17.

"Persons sixteen years and seventeen years of age to loiter, idle, wander, stroll, play in or upon, or drive or ride about in a vehicle or be in or upon the public streets, highways, roads, alleys, or other public buildings, places or grounds between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m."

I'm sure you're familiar with these rules and plan to be done trick-or-treating much earlier than these times, but this is just a heads up in case you didn't know. Have fun, get all the candy, and keep your family safe this Halloween.
