Once things start heating up and all of the snow melts, you start to see the damage the winter season has done to our roads. They get pretty torn up.

Now, to address that issue, we have an enormous amount of road construction. We know it's necessary and appreciate the crews that work hard to make our roads safe, but it is one of the downsides to the summer months.

Roadways are getting clogged with traffic, and it takes you a little longer to get to where your trying to go. It looks like more of that is ahead for this North Dakota city.

New Roundabout

If there's one thing we know about roundabouts, it's that people either love them or they hate them.

Over the years more and more roundabouts have been popping up across the state and we are soon getting another one in North Dakota.

According the the Jamestown Sun, after considering three other alternatives (radial T, double crossover, and displaced left turns), the North Dakota Department of Transportation announced that they have selected the roundabout option for the U.S. Highway 52 and 10th St SE intersection.

According to the source, the project is estimated to cost $9.2 million.

NDDOT also chose a five-lane road with a two-way left turn for Business Loop West at a cost of $6.5 million.

The source says the project will reconstruct the U.S. Highway 52 and 10th Street Southeast intersection from 4th Avenue Southwest to 10th Street Southeast. The Sun also claims the two Business Loop bridges will also be replaced.

Construction on this project is scheduled to start summer 2027.
