If you're a psychopath like me, you step on the scale every morning to remind yourself that there's work to be done.

Not that I need the reminder, buttoning my jeans in the morning tends to do the trick just fine.

If you're a normal person, you probably don't torture yourself like that, which is good.

Even if you don't weigh yourself as much as I do, you might still be curious and want to know, just how overweight are North Dakotans as a whole?

A study was done last month by WalletHub, looking at the number of overweight adults, obese adults, adults with high cholesterol, adults with heart disease, the number of fast food restaurants per capita, along with several other metrics.

This information helped paint a picture of where we rank compared to other states, and, to be honest, it's not looking so good.

Most Overweight States

1. West Virginia

2. Mississippi

3. Arkansas

4. Louisiana

5. Alabama

Least Overweight States

1. Colorado

2. Utah

3. Massachusetts

4. California

5. Hawaii

North Dakota Obesity Ranking

So, where does North Dakota fall? The source says North Dakota is the 14th highest state overall in overweight adults and obese adults. Yikes. Can we blame it on the fact that we only have three warm months out of the entire year to get outside and get exercise? Yeah, that's what we're going with.

If you're reading this and now feel down and like you need to whip it into shape, know that you get a pass right now. It's the holiday season. Season's greeting = season's eating. Just make it your New Year's Resolution. That's a next year problem.
