Buc-ee’s Expanding To 8 New States-What About North Dakota?
Have you ever been to a Buc-ee's Convenience Store Before?
It is the holy grail of gas stations or C-Stores. They are so much more than a traditional gas and go. It's really more like shopping at a country store, with great food, and oh yeah, they've got gas too. I experienced my first Buc-ee's on a radio seminar trip to Dallas, Texas, a few years ago, and I remember more about Buc-ee's than anything I learned at my conference. Even Buc-ee's bathrooms are famous for their massive size and have won awards for the "Best Bathrooms in America"; who knew there was such a thing?
Buc-ee's Beginnings
According to Wikipedia, Buc-ee's was founded back in 1982 in Texas, and Buc-ee's established its first travel center in Luling, south of Austin, Texas, in 2003. The company started to expand outside the state of Texas in 2018 with the opening of a location in Alabama, and since then, Buc-ee's has opened up in Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee, Colorado, Missouri, Mississippi, and Virginia.
Now the Mega Gas Station Chain is Expanding Again
According to Yahoo Finance, Buc-ee's will be expanding to EIGHT new states, and they are creeping further north towards North Dakota. As far north as Wisconsin. Other states receiving a Buck-ee's are Arizona, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Nebraska, North Carolina, and Ohio. Unfortunately, this time around, North Dakota did not make the list. Look at the MASSIVE size of a typical Buc-ee's below.
Trust me, if you know, you know. You want one of these in Peace Garden State. In the meantime, if you ever get the chance to visit a Buck-ee's, don't miss out. They really are the gold standard for gas stations.
