The video hits you in the stomach harder than a Mike Tyson uppercut. Takes your breath away and leaves you with an overpowering "WHY?" A Nine-minute video was captured for all to see of a suspect detained, on his stomach with a police officer's knee on his neck. The drama folds out when the victim is crying out "I can't breathe" - more than once his pleas are heard. A total of four Minneapolis police officers -  Derek Chauvin, Thomas Lane, Tou Thao, and J Alexander Kueng - were on the scene Memorial Day at a food store responding to a forged document complaint. Police officers said that George Floyd, a 46-year-old black resisted arrest, however, on the video it clearly shows that he was cooperating with officers.

The violent part of the white officer's knee, cutting off oxygen to Floyd with such force, is also CLEARLY visible. This tragedy continued as the victim died later at the hospital. Swift measures were taken as all four officers fired the next day. The mayor of Minneapolis is pursuing criminal charges against the lone officer who dealt with deadly force. Still, though, is that enough for some people to accept? The answer to that last question has been acted out through over 30 fires lit in the Minneapolis area, and protests have been carried out in other states as well. Police wear body cameras, most people I know carry a cell phone ( with a camera of course ), there is security cameras hidden everywhere it seems, and not always does the video show us every element that a police officer faces in a mere matter of seconds. When you wear a badge, you are sworn to protect, and in this case, it definitely ended up just the opposite. For more on this ongoing tragic story click here.
