Tears Flowing In Bismarck-We Just Lost Our Best Friend
YES, there are "tears flowing in Bismarck this morning
Recently, there was a disturbing rumor going around that a much-loved restaurant was going to close. Rockin' Rick from US 1033 last month explored the notion of the Little Cottage Cafe cutting back their hours due to some health issues - Here are some of the worries and thoughts that he brought up. Once again, THESE were rumors.
Unfortunately, the bad news came last night
Here is a post from the Little Cottage Cafe - their Facebook page
As I drove up into their parking lot this morning, I saw an empty restaurant, I saw the sign they posted on the door...
...and I saw a woman who asked me with a huge puzzled look on her face, "Are they not open?" I pointed to the sign and watched her heart drop
Jenessa Dwyer summed up her love for this classic Bismarck restaurant in just a few seconds: "I've been going here for years. I love this place, the food was great and the service was good." I turned to so many people this morning for their thoughts, and they ALL nodded their heads in sadness.
"Small, cozy, friendly..."
Our co-worker, Scott McGowan from Cool 98.7, said it perfectly. "I will miss their caramel rolls, biscuits and gravy. The Little Cottage Cafe was small, cozy, and friendly. When you walked through their doors, you felt instantly at home. A true community gathering." I guarantee you people all over Bismarck and Mandan will be feeling the loss this morning.
