Here In Mandan – Patience + Progress = Success
It's as simple as this - Patience + Progress = Success
It's been an interesting matter of months ( beginning last April ) that we all have encountered while living and working here in Mandan - today is August 27th, and the road construction continues along Memorial Highway. Most of us have no clue what the final results will look like when everything is complete, but for me, it's been fascinating to watch.
"So, how is everyone treating you out here?"
I was walking out to my car yesterday, and I exchanged a quick wave with one of the construction workers. I took this time to walk over and ask him, "So, how is everyone treating you out here?" He took a second and then gave me a brief smile, "Well, we have our moments out here. Some people can be downright rude." - My immediate thought was that SOME people need to just relax and be patient.
Look, we all have places to go, places to be
I understand the frustration of being held up by traffic: a couple of minutes of delay won't kill you. I don't think it's possible for you even to comprehend the amount of work the workers have been doing.
So one of the big questions is, when will their work be complete?
Well, that remains to be seen. From what I understand, when the work began, they were looking at 2 years. The gentleman I spoke to said, "They are moving right along," and you can clearly see that.
The one obstacle THEY know they can't control is Mother Nature, and when she'll throw a tantrum - winter is right around the corner. I have tremendous respect for all of these workers - just always remember - "Patience + Progress = Success"
