The Coronavirus is getting closer to us. On Friday, the Minnesota Department of Health confirmed that a resident has contracted the virus. This is the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Minnesota.

The person who got Coronavirus is an older resident of Ramsey county. The person was recently on a cruise ship that had a confirmed case of Coronavirus. Before the resident began displaying symptoms, they were back in Minnesota.

The person first started showing signs of illness last Tuesday, February 25th and went to get checked out on Thursday. According to Valley News Live (Fargo), the patient tested positive for COVID-19 and is now in isolation at home to recover. The patient does have support from MDH and St. Paul Ramsey County Public Health while they are quarantined.
