NDSU Bison Students Marathon Walk For Testicular Cancer
So....when was the last time you saw someone walking along old Highway 81 wearing a large costume that consisted purely of...ummm...a pair of testicles?
If you are out and about on the roads sometime tonight ( Friday, September 23, 2022 ) or tomorrow you'll come across a bunch of North Dakota State students on foot, bound and determined to make it to Fargo. They will embark from Grand Forks tonight around 8:00 - and their goal is to make it in 24 hours. According to kvrr.com 61 members of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity will be taking part in shifts of 6-10 walkers, and they'll go about two and half hours each. One of them will be trading off with the testicle costume - WHY? Because they are raising money for men's health and testicular cancer -"Students say they want to especially shine the light on men’s mental health.
The National Institute of Mental Health says the suicide rate among males was 4 times higher than females in 2020"
Their goal is to raise $5,000 with their walk
The group these guys are partnering with is Movember ( THE group that does their mustache growth campaign ) - They suggested and supplied the fraternity with the costume - There is no doubt that the sight of...ummm...some Balls plodding down the highway will upset some people, but without a doubt, the bottom line is to raise as much awareness and money as possible - you can help out as well by donating right here ( at the time of my writing this ( 3:30 pm ) they have raised $3,775 already! So take extra care if you are driving this stretch of the old highway tonight or tomorrow.
