According to a study done by Care.com, North Dakota ranks tenth in the nation when it comes to 'states with the healthiest pets.'

If you're a pet parent, you know that pets make our lives so much better. Based on recent studies, relationships with our pets give us more satisfaction than other relationships in our lives. This is why we consider pets our best friends. Therefore, any pet parent should want to keep their best friend as healthy as possible. Luckily, North Dakota seems to be a pretty good spot for that.

The recent study mentioned determined amongst the 50 states and Washington, D.C., where the best locations are to maintain your pet's health. The determining factors used for this study were as follows: healthy environment, access to veterinary care, prevalence of animal illnesses, and non-veterinary pet-related expenditures in each state. North Dakota ranked tenth overall, just behind Wyoming (9th) and South Dakota (8th), but finishing above Kansas (11th) and Minnesota (12th). Finishing as the top state overall were our neighbors to the west, Montana.

The bottom three in the nation were Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi finishing at 50th.

North Dakota ranked best in prevalence of animal illnesses (2nd overall) and a healthy environment (17th overall).

Overall, if you're a pet parent, you're in a pretty good spot to raise your furry friends who love you more than you know.
