Pink Joins Guns N’ Roses for ‘Patience’ at Madison Square Garden
Guns N' Roses delivered the first show in a three-night stand at Madison Square Garden last night — and treated fans to a little extra vocal firepower from Pink during the evening's rendition of their hit "Patience."
That performance, which you can watch courtesy of the fan-shot footage above, wasn't the first time Pink's shared a stage with GNR frontman Axl Rose in recent months. As previously reported, the two were special guests when Billy Joel did a show at Dodger Stadium earlier this year; Rose joined Joel for "Big Shot" and a cover of AC/DC's "Highway to Hell," while Pink sat in on "New York State of Mind" and fronted the band for her own "Try."
Pink's "Patience" cameo at MSG didn't add up to as much stage time — she took over for the song's third verse — but it made an impression on both acts. Guns N' Roses thanked her through their official Twitter account, and she responded with a sarcastic "no problem" that made it clear the show was a big deal for her.
Guns N' Roses' marathon 30-song Oct. 11 set list offered a preview of what they'll bring to the stage when they return to the Garden on Oct. 15 and 16. The band still has plenty of dates left on its hugely lucrative Not in This Lifetime tour, which is currently scheduled to run through Nov. 29.
Pink, meanwhile, made it out of the house at a particularly busy time — the singer is set to release her seventh studio album, Beautiful Trauma, tomorrow. She's booked to begin her own tour starting next spring.
