You can never be too cautious, as far as I'm concerned

I'll never forget what it was like when we all went through COVID-19, which started kicking in at the end of 2019. So strange to see everyone out and about wearing masks - and the whole thing was that after a while, we got used to it. So much so that when people stopped wearing them, THAT became a rare sight. Will we resort to wearing masks again in the near future in Bismarck and Mandan?

Measles cases in North Dakota are on the rise

North Dakota has confirmed 7 measles cases. According to hhs.nd.gov "North Dakota Health and Human Services (HHS) reports that the 2026 measles case count has risen to seven total confirmed cases, including six in Pembina County and one in Williams County. Two individuals have been hospitalized, and five of the cases involve adults over age 19."

So are you at risk?

.Have you come across anyone who has recently had measles themself or knows of someone who has? The first question most people will want to know the answer to is "Is measles easy to catch?" "Unvaccinated individuals are at the highest risk of contracting measles. Herd immunity is achieved when more than 95% of a community is vaccinated, protecting those who are too young, older, immunocompromised, or otherwise unable to receive vaccination. When vaccination rates drop, everyone’s risk increases."  hhs.nd.gov reported.
