Hailing from Bismarck, ND, ‘The Man, The Myth, The Legend’, THE Mark Kidder considers Bismarck his hometown. You may affectionately call him ‘Kidder’ as many have over the years. Kidder’s radio career began in 2007, broadcasting from Grand Forks to eastern North Dakota and western North Dakota with classic and new rock, top 40, country and talk radio. Kidder moved his way from overnights to mornings, evenings and weekends across all the formats.
Hailing from Bismarck, ND, ‘The Man, The Myth, The Legend’, THE Mark Kidder considers Bismarck his hometown. You may affectionately call him ‘Kidder’ as many have over the years. Kidder’s radio career began in 2007, broadcasting from Grand Forks to eastern North Dakota and western North Dakota with classic and new rock, top 40, country, and talk radio. Kidder moved his way from overnights to mornings, evenings, and weekends across all the formats.
In 2012, Kidder was asked to return to Bismarck to pump up the tunes. Kidder apparently did something decent as he had the #1 per-capita active rock category afternoon ratings for the afternoon shift in the U.S. Kidder met/interviewed many rock artists through the years including Metallica, Another Lost Year, Godsmack, Pop Evil, Soil, Taproot, Great White, Filter, Volbeat, Buckcherry, Saliva, Otherwise, Elisium, Throw the Fight, Korn, Art of Dying, Royal Bliss, Adelitas Way, Eve to Adam, Theory of a Deadman, Longreef, Saving Abel, Hurt, 3 Pill Morning, Ra, and more. Kidder even had the privilege to debut and name ‘The End of You and I’ by Another Lost Year from their album ‘The Revolution: Pt. 1 The Other Side’. Kidder also had the opportunity to interview influencers such as Jeff Dunham, Jason Newsted, Paul Teutul, Sr., Sheriff (retired) John Bunnell, ‘Hot Lips’ Sally Kellerman, and more!
Kidder later started a weekly podcast, ‘Beer, Blues & BS’, that can be found online at www.beerbluesbs.com with video and audio versions.
In May 2023, Kidder had the amazing opportunity to join the team at 96.5 The Walleye and continue the rock journey with you. Kidder does his best to bring you the best classic rock that really rocks. Of course, you can’t forget to have a “METALLICA TIIIIIIIIIMMMEEEEEEEEE” now and then! Yes, he has seen Metallica in concert many times and plans to continue that as long as they tour…and yes, he got tickets to see them on the ’72 Seasons World Tour’ in 2023-2024.
As for Kidder, he loves Metallica and other rock music. Kidder is also a weather fanatic and loves to ‘talk shop’ about the weather, what the forecast looks like, how it will affect North Dakota, and if he’ll be able to go out storm chasing to find those elusive tornadoes. Kidder is also a huge fan of the National Hockey League franchise Colorado Avalanche and collegiate-level University of North Dakota sports teams (mainly the hockey team). Kidder nerds out with video games and science fiction conventions. Other than that, Kidder enjoys a tasty glass of rye whiskey (i.e. an Old Fashioned with NO FREAKIN’ CHERRY) or a cold beer.
Join Kidder weekdays on the air for the ‘Killer Kidder Show’ from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM CT on 96.5 The Walleye, on the free 96.5 The Walleye app on iOS and Android, and/or online at www.965thewalleye.com! Thanks for being part of the rock journey.
