The Veith Family In Bismarck - Precision, Skill, Talent Runs Deep

His name is Brad Veith, a Bismarck father of two extremely skilled daughters

Brad comes into our radio station from time to time to pick up a prize; one such day, he mentioned his two talented daughters - one who is 15 and the other 12. They can literally shoot an apple off someone's head ( you may have heard that happening in the past, involving archery ). The oldest one, Odessa, has a long-term goal to someday try out for the Olympics - her younger sister Ryann is making strides towards perfection. Take a look at the pictures below, and see just how high-tech the equipment is these days:

Mental and physical skills

Odessa's division ( Young adult female freestyle ) is easily one of the toughest in the nation. Ryann is in the youth female freestyle division - she has two coaches ( from JOAD - Junior Olympic Archery Development - one of them works with her mental strength - I can only guess what that's like - the concentration and focus, breathing skills. Ryann is coming up on 8 years of experience in archery, and yes, of course, her dad Brad is the one who got her motivated. He says he was not good with a bow at the age of 19; his friends convinced him to carry on.

What's it take to be this talented?

Well, this soon-to-be 7th grader at Wachter Middle School trains over 20 hours a week; she is sponsored by Hard Wired Bowstrings and Little Missouri Archery. She is a very modest, polite young lady - who is proud of how far she has come and what her future looks like. Looking at her accomplishments, I would say keep an eye out for this talented Bismarck archer

2022 - 7 years old - NFAA Indoor Nationals (Louisville) - 14th place

2024 - 9 years old- won the ND ACA Grand Slam

2024 - 10 years old - Frozen 600 - 1st place

2025 - 10 years old - earned her USA yellow pin

2025 - 10 years old - Rushmore Rumble - 1st place - NATIONAL CHAMPION

2025 - 10 years old - NFAA Indoor Nationals (Chicago ) - 3rd place shot a clean 600 with 103x

2025 - 10 years old - won her 2nd ND ACA Grand Slam

2026 - 11 years old - NFAA Indoor Nationals (Memphis) - 1st place shot a clean 600 with 114x - NATIONAL CHAMPION

2026 - 11 years old - invited and became a member of NCEA (North Central Elite Archers) national archery team

2026 - 11 years old - NFAA Outdoor Field Nationals - 1st place - NATIONAL CHAMPION

2026 - 12 years old - IFAA International Outdoor Field - 1st place - INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION
