So listen, I am aware of just how far New Zealand is from Bismarck, North Dakota

Part of my job is to write about events, stories happening here in Bismarck/Mandan. To reach out and find anything interesting about North Dakota, and into Minnesota as well. Last time I checked a map New Zealand was 7,957 miles away from Bismarck, North Dakota. I came across this story within 10 minutes of sitting down this morning, and I'm pretty sure I'll have a smile on my face the rest of the day.

Little boy calls police dispatcher to talk about his toys

According to brobible, a four-year-old boy was at home with his dad, and his mom not feeling well "When dad stepped out of the room, a 4-year-old boy in New Zealand dialed the Kiwi equivalent of ‘911’ (there it’s 111) to tell the police about all of his cool toys" The beauty of this story is just how real and engaging the dispatcher was, and even though there wasn't any video to the audio, we can all paint a picture of in our head the moment the officer showed up at the boy's house.

Whether this was in New Zealand or Bismarck, North Dakota

Kindness is the biggest strength of the local police department. We see that here in North Dakota all the time, for example, just last June KFYR TV gave us a story about "A 7-year-old Dickinson boy always wanted to be a police officer. Thanks to the help of Make-A-Wish North Dakota, family, and a few actors, he patrolled the streets of Dickinson" The parallel between New Zealand dispatcher and police officer to a North Dakota Police officer says so much, treating people with care, and KINDNESS.

I promise you, take a minute and six seconds to listen to this wonderful audio, and then look at the picture, you too will find yourself smiling.
