For the last almost couple of years now or so we have had to see our normal traditions halted here in Bismarck/Mandan

With the arrival of COVID-19, everything we took for granted seemed to slowly disappear. Many people had to start working from home and sadly businesses shut down for good. Our local sporting events stopped, from high school to college. While we were all going through this, Bismarck/Mandan also experienced drought conditions, and that would eventually put an end to another tradition that we all look forward to.

Is it possible to enjoy the 4th of July without fireworks?

That was the burning question just last July. Because of the drought and the concerns for fire danger spreading, many fireworks shows were canceled. Good old-fashioned hot dogs on the grill, enjoying all the festivities of what makes the 4th of July so awesome, and then a quiet empty night, without a sky display. Of course, we always have the Bismarck Larks, with the entertainment they provide with baseball on the field, fan participation, and controlled fireworks show after the game.

Williston invites you out to bring in the New Year with a bang

According to KFYR TV "After being banned during the Fourth of July holiday, fireworks are going to be permitted in the City of Williston, allowing residents to ring in the new year with a bang" - How awesome is that going to be? So, when can you get your hands on them? This Sunday through New Years Day. Last question when can you ignite them? KFYR TV added, "Williston’s city ordinance says fireworks can be shot off on Friday, December 31 until January 1 at 1 am."
