Accidents can happen so quickly...

...and almost anywhere, and it can turn a normal Thursday morning into a nightmare. Weather was not an issue, there were no traffic snarls to blame this on, and no ice or snow on the ground ( usually the culprits that spell out accidents ). Just after 8:45 or so one of our employees went out for a smoke break, and literally out of nowhere a sea of police cars sped past our studios on the strip, on their way to something you will rarely see.

"I was trying to avoid another car..."

Not far from us, on the other side of the Expressway, a house on a fairly quiet street had an unexpected visitor drop in. Take a long look at this picture and try and imagine the shock and horror of being behind the wheel, and those that live inside the house.

Once again, an incident like this just takes a second to happen, yet lasts an eternity while it IS HAPPENING. The good news is, that by the time I got there in our station's vehicle, the fire department had left, and only a couple of police cars were still on the scene, and the BEST NEWS of all, no injuries.

After trying to avoid another car on the road, the frightened woman hit the gas pedal instead of the brake. As always, the silver lining of an incident like this is that nobody was hurt.
