30As much as we would like to avoid eating fast food, we all succumb to the cravings and/or convenience from time to time.

There are new restaurants popping up every day in North Dakota, which begs the question: Which fast food restaurants are North Dakotans frequenting the most?

Where Do We See The Longest Lines?

Chick-Fil-A's line is ridiculously long every day. We have several different Subway restaurants in Bismarck-Mandan alone... the same goes for Taco Bell. So, which is it?

The Numbers

A study was done by a company called Price Listo; it found the most popular fast food restaurants in each state by looking at search volume over the past 12 months. The study also considered the highest-earning restaurants over the past year.

4th Most Popular

The fourth most popular restaurant in the country is none other than Starbucks. While that's the national ranking, I'd argue that Caribou fares pretty well here in North Dakota.

Six different states had Starbucks as their most popular restaurant.

Fun fact: There are 15,966 Starbucks stores across the country.

3rd Most Popular

In third place, we have none other than Chick-Fil-A. When Bismarck's first Chick-Fil-A opened recently, it made local news. The lines were spilling over into a highly trafficked street. It was madness. I happen to love madness, so we're good.

While Chick-Fil-A isn't North Dakota's number one fast food restaurant, seven other states made this their top pick (South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, etc).

Fun Fact: There are 2,909 Chick-Fil-A's in the country.

2nd Most Popular

No offense, but at first, I found this super surprising. Coming in at number two (nationally) is Dominos. #NotMyFave, but after thinking about it for a minute, it made sense.

The world is full of sweatpants-wearing, no-contact-loving introverts... Bring the food to me and leave it at my doorstep. Walk away and don't look back because it will not be a human that opens the door to retrieve it; it will be a high-bun and leftover makeup from yesterday-wearing, no shower-having pizza goblin.

Yes, we pizza goblins do not like eyes laid upon us, nor do we wish to engage in small talk. We are hangry, tired, unbathed, and terrifying.

The most popular fast food restaurant in the country is also the most popular in North Dakota.

I'm sure it comes as no great shock to you that Mcdonald's takes this crown. Twenty-two states had McDonald's as their number one fast food restaurant.

Fun Fact: There are a total of 13,515 McDonald's locations in the U.S. -- Wow! That's some serious McDouble trouble.
