The aches and pains of losing Eddie Van Halen to cancer are rolling in. Superstars from all over the country are expressing their grief for the death of the 65-year old guitar genius. Eddie had been battling cancer for over a decade, lost the battle Tuesday morning in Santa Monica, California. ETonline.com reported that his son and fellow band member, Wolfgang shocked the world with the announcement "I can't believe I'm having to write this, but my father, Edward Lodewijk Van Halen, has lost his long and arduous battle with cancer this morning, He was the best father I could ever ask for. Every moment I've shared with him on and off stage was a gift. My heart is broken and I don't think I'll ever fully recover from this loss. I love you so much, Pop." 

As you can imagine the tributes and heart-felt responses haven't stopped for a second. Bon Jovi likened Eddie's talent as a beacon that teenagers from all over the planet looked up to, and tried to emulate his powerful sounds. KISS's Gene Simmons not only praised his brilliant abilities as a "Guitar God", but also pointed out what a beautiful soul he possessed. Motley Crue's Nikki Sixx had this to say "RIP Eddie Van Halen. You changed our world. You were the Mozart of rock guitar. Travel safe rockstar."     Jimmy Kimmel added that the "two best hours of his life" were spent chatting with Eddie Van Halen.

When a legendary giant passes, their spirit lives on through all of us one way or another. Eddie's brother, Alex had this simple, touching last couple of words - "Hey Ed. Love you. See you on the other side. Your brother, Al"
