Something we all do without even thinking about it

I don't want to point out the obvious, but we often drive to work Monday through Friday in such a fog, a routine if you will, that we forget about all the amazing beautiful spots in Bismarck and Mandan.

1) The State Capital

Whether you have relatives in town, OR for many, you have never even had the urge to take the free tour of our State Capital. According to ndtourism.com  "Guided indoor tours are available Monday through Friday on the hour at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Self-guided tours are available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m"

2) Buckstop Junction

I discovered this wonderful place last year. It's so enchanting, it truly is. A perfect place to take the whole family. Relive history with some classic old relic buildings and visit the open-air museum. Located at 3805 E Bismarck Expy, Bismarck, make sure you drop by and stay awhile!

4) Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park

Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park is rich in both military and early Native American history. Now try and imagine this, a warm summer day that seems to last an eternity. There you are camping out along the Missouri River. There is nothing better. Take the time to explore one of the many walking trails - live life!

5) The Missouri River

Here is an example of what I was talking about earlier. We drive over this scenic river sometimes without taking just a second to realize how beautiful it is. Loaded with activity, and artwork along the river, kick back and admire everything you see.

An absolute MUST is to board the Lewis and Clark Riverboat and feel the sun and breeze in your face as you drift down the river.
