Bismarck’s North Walmart SAFE After A Bomb Threat Last Night
A normal Sunday night turned into a tense situation
Sunday is reserved for a relaxing day, whether you spend it with your family or you take a nap all day. For many North Dakotans ( and people all over the United States ) it's a day to get some shopping done at Walmart. This popular chain of stores has something for everybody, from electronics, to necessary things around the house, and groceries. I'm not going to sugarcoat it by saying you can "get in and out of Walmart" in like 5 minutes, plan on taking your time when you go to either the South or North location, and MOST people know that the weekends are always, always busy. Which is what made last night even more intense.
The building was evacuated and people were seen safe outside
According to KX NET "Bismarck Police responded to a bomb threat at the North Walmart earlier Sunday night but confirmed the scene is safe. The building was evacuated and people were seen standing outside in the parking lot" There was no explanation so far whether the bomb threat was phoned in or just how the Bismarck Police received the tip. KX NET also reported that "There were several police vehicles on the scene"
This isn't the first time that a Bismarck Walmart has been evacuated
Back in May of 2019, the South Walmart in Bismarck had to be evacuated. Valley News Live reported that "... someone anonymously called the Subway located inside Wal-Mart and said that there was a bomb outside of the Subway" No injuries and no bombs were discovered.
The big question is WHY? Why would anyone call in a bomb threat?
Maybe the only answer is for the cheap thrill of seeing it make the news. Stupid I know, for if you are dumb enough to get caught, you'll be behind bars faster than it takes to dial a phone.
