At first glance of this picture, your brain could possibly tell you that this is an aerial view of the majestic Grand Canyon

Sadly though it is not. As enormous as this snapshot appears, it is just one of many obstacles that seem to invade all of Bismarck and Mandan, and our vehicles suffer the wrath. I mentioned yesterday the old saying "The change of seasons in North Dakota is Winter and Road Construction!" Well, you can add Potholes to that - for the tale end of winter stirs up HUGE gaping holes in our streets and parking lots -  Some people will throw the blame on the plows, that pick up the asphalt.

The timely and somewhat funny jokes also seem to surface right around this time of year...

However, the attempt at humor falls short with the many people who made contact with these destructive, jagged mini-cliffs

My friend last night experienced a quick jolt of "Pothole Hell" after gauging a hole in his passenger side tire. I also came across several people that experienced the same kind of greeting. Driving around Bismarck and Mandan, it's really becoming more difficult to avoid these acts of road terrorism - sometimes you don't see it until it's too late, and you brace yourself for the worst when you rumble right through one of these.

Is There Anything You Can Do About This Besides Pulling Your Hair Out?

I did a little investigative work, and I did find an address where you can report any other traffic mayhem - Pothole Repair. - My own experience I have come across from living out here for 3 years is, that EVENTUALLY the Potholes get patched up.
