The National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a BLIZZARD WARNING through Saturday afternoon as the area will experience an arctic clipper moving through quickly Friday, that will drop temperatures, bring gusty winds and will result in drifting and blowing snow.

This will impact travel in the area and motorist are advised to only make emergency travel and make sure that you have a survival kit in your vehicle should you travel. Make sure you advise family or friends of the route that you plan to travel and arrival times at your destination. Travel in the region will be hazardous if not impossible. If you must travel, dress for the outside temperatures, not the inside car temperature.

The area will experience wind chills from 40 to 60 below zero beginning Friday afternoon into the night and will persist through out the weekend.

Take the necessary precautions including shelter for your pets and be cautious of exposed skin while out in the elements.
