A co-worker sent me this idea for a story - teasing me that I probably wouldn't be interested

He couldn't be more wrong. One of my most cherished memories was watching my mom sitting in front of her sewing machine - humming along to some unknown tune

while creating magic. Let me introduce you to Casey Norman and Sam Dobransky. Two friends who share the same passion and talents.

Casey (Altered Ego) has been doing alterations for about 20 years...

...and has been doing alterations as her own business for 5 years. Sam (Buttons and Binding) has been

sewing as a hobby (quilts, baby blankets, memory bears) for about 10 years. Just recently she went live with her business 2 weeks ago.

Here is what they both do so well:

"Together we offer alterations on everyday clothing, business wear, military, formal wear, and weddings (*we don't offer bridal gown alterations at this time). We can also

do quilts, T-shirt quilts, baby blankets, and memorial bears/pillows. If there is something that is not on our list, our customers can contact us, and we can let them know if it is

something we can provide. The best thing about sewing is there are little limits to what we can do!" 

I had a chance to talk with these wonderful ladies this morning

It is a real joy to talk to people who LOVE what they do. Inspiring and so full of excitement - as always my number one question - to both of them individually - "What do you love most about your job?"

Sam: "Sewing helps me connect with people. Being able to help bring their vision to life or help commemorate a loved one is so special. Being able to continue to learn new

skills is also a huge part of why I love sewing."

Casey: "I love being able to help individuals feel more confident in the clothes they wear. By altering those clothes to fit right, it also Alters their confidence while wearing

said item.  Also, I have a special place for all my military customers. As a prior service member, I understand the importance of placement and fit."
