Info You Should Know:

The city of Bismarck issued a public service announcement, saying that garbage collection routes will be cancelled during the blizzard.

As of right now the cancellation will be for April 13th - 14th.

Blizzard Causes Dangerous Conditions For City Workers

Collection trucks were taken off the roads earlier this morning (April 12th) due to safety concerns. The city indicated that visibility was poor and road conditions were worsening, so workers were taken off their routes.

For Now...

Garbage collection is cancelled for the Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday routes, and at this time, collections will not resume until next week.

In the meantime, you may want to minimize your household waste. If you haven't already, it might also be a good idea to bring inside any lightweight garbage cans or bags that could blow away in these high winds.

And until otherwise notified, next week's routes will take place at their regularly scheduled times.

Mandan:

I have yet to hear word from the city of Mandan, but I would imagine and prepare for a similar scenario. Once that information comes available we will update this post.

Another Announcement:

In addition to that, the city informed us that the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and Electronic Recycling Center will be closing for Thursday, April 14th.

Questions regarding city procedures and plans can be answered on the city's website. There, you will find details on snowplow routes, garbage collection, and other useful information.

Stay safe and warm out there!
