Check Out The New Roller Coaster On The Strip In Mandan
Well, it's not like this was a complete surprise or anything like that
Not even close - we knew that eventually all the talk about construction on the strip in Mandan would happen sooner or later. I believe that since 2022, there has been talk about all of the construction we are seeing now. Just after the first of April, as soon as Mother Nature stepped aside, all the work began on the strip.
Would local businesses be affected? Of course. Some places had a difficult time bringing customers into their parking lot: many people just drove past without seeing the entrance due to the construction. Yesterday I drove out of our lot, onto what I can only describe as a "mini roller coaster" ( see the dip below )
Here is the latest from the Memorial Highway Construction Newsletter
*Over the past several weeks, crews have been focused on the north side of the roadway. Attention will now shift to the south side, where crews will begin:
*Removing the existing asphalt
*Lowering ( cutting down ) the roadway elevation
*Installing underground utilities
What Drivers Need To Know:
* Traffic flow will not change significantly: there will still be one lane in each direction with a center turn lane maintained.
* Drivers should continue to watch for changing traffic patterns and use extra caution through the work zone
* 21st Street SE remains closed while crews complete curb and gutter work in that area. We'll share updates as soon as it reopens
