Cruising Big Time On The 94 In Bismarck – Hello Mr. On-Ramp
So I'm still a little perplexed by something, maybe you can help me out...
...today is Wednesday - both this past Monday and Tuesday I did nothing out of the ordinary - I maintained my weekly routine right down to the second - and one of those is my drive to work in Mandan and back home again ( my commute of roughly 8 miles roundtrip ). I'm quite sure that I'm not the only person who failed to notice a MAJOR pleasant surprise. I finally did around 7:40 am, and it was glorious.
Let me take you back to what seemed like 20 years ago
I still remember it like it was yesterday - there I was approaching the 94 East on-ramp when some blinking lights on a sign warned me and others that an enormous inconvenience was about to take place ( for who knows how long ) - I am referring to about 8 months ago ... Temporary I-94 loop ramp closure expected next week - there was no time limit posted on when this would be complete. So, as we all learned to take turns merging onto the 94, we slowly attempted to get used to the construction over on the bridge, and our cars slowed down to a miserable crawl. Take a long look at this picture below :) See any orange cones around? What a breeze it was heading down the hill ( observing the speed limit of course )
Listen, no offense to the strip here in Mandan..( taking that long stretch to get to the On-Ramp over by Culver's )...
...but I am so looking forward to having my old buddy back ( the 94 East On-Ramp )
