Man, that makes me hungry for some good old-fashioned flapjacks and relaxing at one of my favorite places. The Dakota Zoo, with all its charm, is hosting another breakfast for YOU and your critters ( family ) - nothing like breathing in some fresh air and pouring some maple syrup over your pancakes while some curious zoo inhabitants are staring at you in THEIR element. This Saturday it's happening at the Dakota Zoo.

I'll never forget what my dad told me years ago

I couldn't have been older than 5 years old - I remember in San Diego my dad worked at the San Diego Zoo - he drove one of those old school buses and gave tours around the park - he once told everyone that one of his favorite things was getting there early, and seeing some of the animals you won't see later on in the day - how quite and peaceful the place was while the animals were having their breakfast.

"Back by popular demand we have several breakfasts throughout the year. Come enjoy a generous portion of scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, coffee and juice at a unique time and place. Past participants tell us that the Zoo animals are particularly active during these morning events and that it’s a great time to visit the Zoo. Invite the whole neighborhood! Cost is $10 for Dakota Zoo member adults and $5 for Dakota Zoo member children. Non-member adults are $20 and non-member children are $15. Non-member fee includes zoo admission"
