Ok so it's actually "Whoomp!" ( There it is ) - but I'm close enough

Check it out, our very own Dakota Zoo has introduced the opening of a new exhibit - please feel free to belt out "Whoop there it is.." when you come across Lancelot and Nelson! This is pretty exciting stuff, and let me ask you a question: have you ever stood next to a Whooping Crane? They are taller than you think.

These two "Cranes" have been Dakota Zoo residents since last fall

Dakota Zoo is such a wonderful place, check out their proud Facebook post from yesterday ( Thursday, July 30th )

"Whooping Cranes! Another Endangered Species Added to the Dakota Zoo
The Dakota Zoo is excited to announce the opening of the Whooping Crane exhibit, located on the Wilderness Trail area near the African Penguin Habitat. This spacious new exhibit is home to our male “Lancelot” and female “Nelson,” who came to the Dakota Zoo last fall from the Calgary Zoo. They have been acclimating to North Dakota these past months and seem quite comfortable in their new home. The new exhibit features a pond, trees for shade and a glass viewing station for the enjoyment of our visitors. In addition to exhibiting this rare species, the Dakota Zoo has signed on to provide any needed assistance with rehabilitating wild cranes that become injured or need help during their spring and fall migrations. In addition to providing care for injured or orphaned wild cranes, the zoo has served as a federally licensed rehabilitation center for raptors of all types for many years. Come meet our new 5-foot-tall friends and watch as they explore their new habitat!"
Remember to TRY to stay in key - "Whoop there THEY ARE..."
